Summer Lovin - Part I

Hey you guys, so how is your summer season coming along so far?
I'll tell you a bit about mine. I made a diet plan, setup an approximate calorie count, workout goals, things were going quite okay, when on day 3 of this meticulous diet, I started craving a Chocolate Ice cream shake ( note the specific details).

Ok, so you are probably thinking nbd right, it is a part of the process; yeah, no. I don't normally have cravings but when I do, lets just say I turn into this person with borderline-stalking -food review pages -maniac phase followed by I -saw -and- read- too much- indecisiveness -at- its- peek. Anyways, after ordering a Kit Kat chocolate ice cream shake, and drag-drinking it for the whole day, my craving now thoroughly satisfied and fulfilled and here Iam , after scraping those last leftover kitkat crunchy bits leftover in the bottom of the cup.

So what can we do, irrespective of eating our hearts out and blaming it on the weather. A couple of things actually, which I will talk about in more than 1 blogposts so summer lovin 1 starts here.So what does Karachi summers survival kit comprise of?. Don't worry I'm  not gonna harp about the best foundation & SPF or the best lawn joras you have to have, lets start with the basics.

Your skin loses water along with electrolytes while you sweat. The volume of water lost in sweat daily is highly variable, ranging from 100 to 8,000 mL/day. The solute loss can be as much as 350 mmol/day (or 90 mmol/day acclimatised) of sodium under the most extreme conditions. During average intensity exercise, sweat losses can average up to 2 litres of water/hour.

The best way to overcome these losses are primarily water & fruits and veggies with high water content which will provide you with natural sugars, amino acids, mineral salts and vitamins that are lost in exercise. The study found that this combination helps hydrate you more effectively than water or sports drinks. Eating fruits and vegetables high in water content can replenish your body without all the artificial colors and flavors commonly found in sports drinks. The biggest advantage of consuming high water content foods is that they contain minimal calories and provide a feeling of fullness.,Vegetables that contain 92 percent water include cauliflower, eggplant, red cabbage, peppers and spinach. Broccoli is 91 percent water by weight. Additional healthy hydrating foods include carrots with 87 % water and green peas and white potatoes with 79 % water. Tomatoes have 94% water.

Watermelon and strawberries contain about 92% water per volume. Other fruits with high water content include grapefruit with 91 percent, cantaloupe with 90 percent and peaches with 88 percent water. . Apricots hold 86 percent water, while plums contain 85 percent water. The water content for apples and pears is 84 percent. Cherries and grapes contain an average of 81 percent water. And, a banana’s composition includes 74 percent water.
( I mainly discussed fruits and veggies which are majorly, widely available in Pakistan in summers).

Recipes coming up!!

Do a checklist before you leave your house.

Sunblock
Sunnies
Tissues
Small water bottle

Plant a tree, a sapling, or grass for that matter! Nobody is alien to the advantages of plantation and greenery, beyond the decorating and aesthetically pleasing concept.

If you want to be a part of crazy summer sale saga ( I call them monopolcapitalism saga, sorry not sorry) try doing it on line. Who doesn't like to score good apparel with lowered prices, but try not to do that endangering your life and sanity.

A little deed goes a long way. There will be people and animals out there, who will be parched, literally, if you can, get them chilled small water bottles.

And lastly, if you are going on a vacation ( lucky you!) you can totally share your experiences with your snaps of adventures fulfilled and food gobbled up, I will be on the other side with a misty eyed- wobbly lip-but-still-good envious feelings; lol just kidding, enjoy your fullest & from our side too!

I have some local brands in mind that I love for summer apparel, sunnies, hijabs etc that I might write about in Summer Lovin series but do let me know if that is something you guys will be interested in., and only then is it probably happening.
K, bye.
