When life gives you Lululemons- book review
Hey you guys! today I'm reviewing When life gives you Lululemons by Lauren WeisBerger, as I somewhat promised on Instagram two days ago. Kris Berger is the author of the infamous The Devil wears Prada. I tried to review it with as less amount of spoilers as possible, but still, spoiler alert ( no major ones though).
This story revolves around Emily who you know from the Devil wears Prada, as the ex personal assistant to Miranda Preistly, legendary fashion editor of The Runway magazine, now running her own image consultant business boasting a roster of some high profile Hollywood celebs. Emily has zero filter whatsoever and at times you will find her blurting out the most outrageous things that you were thinking about! She has found herself in the suburbs- desperate, but why?
Karolina- a previously world famous model and former face of Loreal- now wife of a US senator with aspirations for being the country's president in the near future .
Miriam ,who was until recently partner at a prestigious law firm but move to Greenwich , now a stay at home mom to her 3 kids, life is pretty different and somewhat unfulfilling.
All three main characters are a powerhouse in themselves.
Story revolves around the 3 characters at the same time but the major story is that of Karolina , when she finds herself in a quiet difficult situation, charged with a DUI and her marriage falling apart very publicly.
These 3 women can't be any more different, but the circumstances find the threesome comes hustling for troubleshooting the serious mess.
You have strong woman friendships, suburban mommies with their obsession with active wear, organizing their children playdates and some unrealistically realistic custom fitting body surgeries. Miranda also appears in the novel for a very brief period, doing what she does best- making things happen in a jiffy.
The end brings us to some very unsuspecting but positive important changes in Karolina , Miriam and Emily's life.
I would recommend you to read this book and hopefully, fingers crossed, if one day they do decide to make a movie based on the book, I'm all in!
